Keeping Your Kid Clean During and After Playtime

It’s finally nice outside and you’re ready to take your kids to the park or playground. But before you go, there are a few things you need to do to help them stay clean and healthy. Playing in the dirt and around other kids is a great way for children to get exercise and have fun, but it’s important to keep hygiene after playtime as well. In this blog post, we will discuss some of the most important tips for helping your child stay clean after playtime! Stay tuned!

How to keep your kids clean at the playground?

Indoor and outdoor playgrounds are great places for kids to explore, have fun and get some exercise. If you’re at an indoor fun park with trampolines and ball arenas, you can be sure that it will be cleaner than your local park. However, it’s also a place where germs can spread easily. To help prevent the spread of germs, it’s important to practice good hygiene after playtime. Here are some tips:

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water: Hand-washing is one of the most important ways to prevent the spread of germs. It’s important to establish it as a healthy habit from preschool years. Help your child wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water before they eat or drink anything.

Sanitize toys and surfaces: If possible, sanitize any toys or surfaces that your child has been in contact with. This will help kill any bacteria or viruses that may be on them. Of course, if you’ve been at an indoor playground that is being professionally managed, there’s no need for that last step.

Have a hygiene kit handy:  Pack a small bag with wipes, hand sanitizer, and tissues to help your child clean up after playtime. This will come in handy if there’s no soap and water available. A bottle of water will also help if they get really messy.

Change into clean clothes: It’s a good idea to have your child change into clean clothes after they’ve been playing. This will help prevent them from tracking dirt and germs into the house.

Give them a bath or shower: A bath or shower is a great way to get rid of any dirt, bacteria or viruses that may be on your child’s skin. Be sure to wash their hair as well to remove any sweat or grime.

Wear grip socks:  Grip socks are great for preventing slips and falls, but they also help keep feet clean and free from bacteria. If your child is wearing shoes without socks, be sure to sanitize their feet when you get home.

Mind what the kids wear: It’s important to dress your child in clothing that is comfortable and allows them to move freely, but you also want to avoid clothes that are too loose or baggy. Baggy clothes can easily become caught on playground equipment and cause accidents. They can also get dirty easily.

Avoid messy playgrounds: If possible, try to avoid playgrounds that are overly dirty or have a lot of trash around. These types of playgrounds can be breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses.  If it’s a public playground, join forces with other parents and clean it up. Even better, you can ask kids to join in and throw a party. It’ll be safer and more enjoyable for everyone!

Lead by example:  One of the best ways to teach your child about good hygiene is to lead by example. Be sure to wash your own hands frequently, and don’t forget to set a good example:

  • sneeze or cough in a napkin or your elbow
  • be mindful of your surroundings
  • don’t throw away trash on the ground
  • keep your backyard, home, or local playground clean
  • wash your hands after being in contact with the ground or equipment.
